We are guided by three overarching principles that we strive to cultivate in ourselves and instill in our children: love, learning, and stewardship.
Each principle encapsulates five core values that enlighten our understanding of life and enhance our efforts to serve.
CORE VALUES
LOVE
Love is the purest motivation for giving and serving. When we are filled with love, we do all we can to help others. We will love those we serve.
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God…”
1 John 4:7, New Testament
FAITH
As Christians, we have faith in Jesus Christ; We will act on this faith by following His example and giving dedicated service.
“The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith.”
—Billy Graham, Evangelist
COMPASSION
Compassionate people have sympathy for the difficulties of others and desire to relieve their suffering by extending kindness and tenderness. We will show compassion to all those with whom we interact.
“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”
—Ian Maclaren, Author
HOPE
Optimism, confidence, enthusiasm, and patience all demonstrate hope. Hope sustains us through the small and large challenges we face. With hope, we will find joy in life, regardless of our circumstances.
“Let your hopes, not your hurts, shape your future.”
—Robert H. Schuller, Evangelist
RESPECT
As we show respect, our eyes are opened to the magnificent potential of each member of the human family. We will respect each one of God’s children.
“Respect is one of the greatest expressions of love.”
—Don Miguel Ruiz, Author
FRIENDSHIP
Friendship is a bond between people who choose to be enriched by one another’s influence. It is one of the great rewards we will receive from giving of our time, talents, and energy.
“True friendship multiplies the good in life and divides its evils.”
—Baltasar Gracian, Writer
